Welcome to my blog! You didn’t misread the title. I’ve entitled this blog “Garbage Wives“. I personally understand that combining these words brings up ugly connotations to a fragile soul. The subsequent images that spring to mind are bared shreds of a betrayed heart, now torn and ripped as these two words link together. No one will like it, and I don’t either, but it’s happening to women across the world in staggering numbers, by men who claim to be Jesus followers. The research I’ve gathered is astonishing. More than that…it’s a grievous abomination.
Years ago, following a shockingly, sudden dismissal and abandonment by my husband, the Lord spoke to my heart about women such as myself who were being treated like “garbage wives“.
Mind you, we aren’t “garbage,” but can suffer ill treatment as if we have little or no value.
This idiom fully resonated with me then and still does, now years later, even as I’m happily married again (picture below) to a devoted follower of Jesus. This man does love me as Christ loves His Church; His Bride. His love for me is freeing and I’m blossoming as a rose bud in full sun after a gentle, spring rain.
My intention is to share in your feelings as I write here; having survived without bitterness a similar torment as you. I was scorched by the flames as I endured the abandonment by my former husband. My goal is to promote Jesus’ endless gift of hope through my thoughtful musings, for any stricken soul’s recovery.
Because of Jesus’ redeeming love for me,
Sherri

Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
